The Kiss That Missed
By
David Melling
Publisher
Barrons
A King blows his son a royal goodnight kiss. It misses. The ensuing hunt to retrieve the kiss demonstrates that even the growliest bear or largest dragon can't resist a goodnight kiss. This fun bedtime story will delight children with its gentle silliness. Mom and Dad may find themselves sending a goodnight kiss to the monster under the bed. Humor suffuses Melling's story and illustrations. Describing the forest where the hunt has taken the knight in charge of returning the kiss, Melling says, "It was dark. It was smelly. It was....snowing." Melling offers a hint of scary slathered liberally with silliness and then pops in an unexpected twist. This entertaining book will be in high demand for repeat bedtime readings.
