The Fruit of the Spirit is PEACE
Board Book, 5 x 8, 16 pages
Justin William Chase Jr. has two goals in life - to paint and to be as famous an artist as his father. Justin has the talent and the drive. He goes to Europe and gets the training and the acclaim. Still, he lacks in one area, and that lack eventually causes even his talent to appear to diminish, leaving him wondering if he will ever create a beautiful painting again. His father, sensing this, calls him to come home.
Not knowing why his father has summoned him and worrying about the older man's health, Justin packs up his belongings and heads back to America. When he reaches his father's side, the elder artist takes his son by the hand so they can paint together as they had done when Justin was a child. As they work, father reminds son that he should paint not to bring glory to himself, but to God, and together they create a masterpiece.
Joni Eareckson Tada and Craig Nelson have, together, created a masterpiece as well - one that made this reader cry. Through this father and son they give us a touching picture of God's love for us, His belief in us, and what we can accomplish when we let Him guide our hands.
